Flower Skull Manifesto

The Balance of Chaos and Order

FlowerSkull believes in balancing chaos and order. We believe human systems are fictional creations of imperfect minds. Capitalism, feudalism, fascism, communism, socialism and all other “isms” are illusions and distractions. It is our contention that human activity should be designed to balance chaos and order.

Our distant ancestors knew the importance of understanding the chaos and order dance. Reality requires both. Too much chaos creates a descent into darkness and madness. Too much order creates petrifaction and brittleness. Chaos needs order to give it form, while order needs chaos to feed it life. Neither can exist alone.

The Role of Entropy

Entropy is the third party to the dance. Entropy is the friend of chaos. There are many definitions of entropy. FlowerSkull defines entropy as: systems fall apart without constant attention, and once they fall apart, they are almost impossible to put back together again. Entropy is the process by which order decays into disorder. The disorder creates chaos and unpredictability. FlowerSkull believes that understanding and managing this process is critical to human flourishing.

Beyond Morality

FlowerSkull places no moral value on chaos or order. We believe that both are necessary for the emergence of mankind to a higher level of existence. Each process works with the other to create an endless cycle of ages in which chaos dominates, followed by cycles in which order dominates. However, each cycle is impacted by the less dominant force. Eventually, that force moves the cycle forward to become the dominant force. We see this time and time again throughout human history.

Patterns Within the Dance

FlowerSkull also believes that we do not truly understand the chaos and order dance. Science has found patterns of order in seemingly chaotic systems. There are levels and patterns to this dance that we do not understand and that we need to discover. Humankind needs to understand how its actions affect the delicate balance and dance between chaos and order. Policies that affect the balance can have terrible negative consequences in the short term for humanity

A Historical Example: Nazi Germany

Nazi Germany is an example of how this dance and balance are impacted by human behavior. Germany after World War I was in chaos. Inflation was running rampant, there were attempted revolutions, and the country was suffering under war reparations. There was disorder everywhere. The Nazi party promised order.

Unfortunately, since the chaos was so out of balance, the process of restoring order was out of balance as well. Hitler used the threat of chaos to implement harsh and terrible policies. The German people were so damaged by the chaos of the 1920s that they turned a blind eye to these policies. For a short while, the majority of Germans lived in an orderly society. This would change. The order the Germans believed in was only chaos in disguise.

After a few years of perceived order, chaos came back with a vengeance. The entire world was thrown into war, horrible atrocities were perpetrated upon humanity, Germany was destroyed, and returned to chaos.

When Balance Fails

Entropy was out of control in Europe. The balance between chaos and order was heavily tilted toward chaos. It would take a heavy dose of order to bring chaos back into balance. Unfortunately, bringing in order carried chaos with it. This was due to the Herculean effort required to restore the balance. This type of effort is fraught with peril. It is important to maintain the balance.

Human Emergence

Humanity is in the process of emergence from slavery to the requirements of the natural world to a condition of spiritual freedom. Emergence enables us to escape thoughtless obedience to our instincts. We are developing the ability to create a space between stimulus and response that enables choice. Chaos stimulates the emergence and order controls it. If the process is unbalanced, emergence is interrupted or reversed.

The Disguises of Chaos and Order

Chaos and order are so intertwined that sometimes they are disguised as each other. An event that looks chaotic may actually be restoring order, while an orderly event may actually cause chaos. The German people believed that Hitler was bringing order. However, he was so full of chaos that there was no true order within him. It requires wisdom and thought to determine the actual impact of a proposed event or action.

What Order Is Not

Order is not a totalitarian societal structure that requires blind obedience. In fact, totalitarian structures contain seeds of out-of-control chaos. Nazism looked like order. It was not. It was out-of-control chaos disguised as order. It broke the mind of the German people by destroying the moral principles that preserve order. This perverted survival instincts and released dark forces that manipulated chaos for their own terrible ends.

Defining Order

According to ChatGPT, in the context of chaos and order, “order” typically refers to a state of organization, structure, or predictability. It represents a condition in which elements or events are arranged in a systematic or harmonious manner. Order serves as a contrast to “chaos,” which denotes a state of disorder, randomness, or unpredictability. FlowerSkull agrees with this definition.

The Current Moment

America has two political parties. At this moment, both parties are sowing chaos. They use totalitarian methods to stifle debate and refuse to allow reality to interfere with their confirmation bias. Their reaction to climate change is an example.

Climate change is caused by fossil fuel pollution. However, fossil fuels have enabled humanity to emerge from the tyranny of uncontrolled nature. The fringe in both parties have a tendency to ignore one of these two facts.

The use of fossil fuels frees humanity from the backbreaking labor and toil that most of our ancestors suffered throughout humanity’s existence on the planet. For example, the simple act of putting your clothes in a washing machine and dryer required hours and hours of labor before the introduction of electricity. The entire women’s rights movement was highly enabled by electricity — freeing women from the backbreaking toil of feeding and taking care of a family, while freeing men from backbreaking agricultural or factory labor.

A Balanced Approach

FlowerSkull believes that ignoring the importance of fossil fuels and ignoring the negative impact of pollution are both chaotic positions. FlowerSkull believes in a comprehensive plan that logically moves us into clean energy to restore balance.

For example, FlowerSkull supports the concept of electric vehicles reducing emissions. However, FlowerSkull believes that without a plan that addresses the impact on the energy infrastructure, electric vehicles will only create more chaotic imbalance.

The Path Forward

We are in a time of growing chaos — chaos that is advanced by the force of entropy. Order needs to be restored to the balance. Once again, order is not totalitarianism. Totalitarianism is a tool of chaos.

Order is restored by suspending confirmation bias and truthfully analyzing problems. FlowerSkull will welcome opinions from all spectrums of society and all points of view. We will examine each issue from as many perspectives as possible. The main goal will be to regulate the flow of chaos so that positive change occurs without the drastic consequences of out-of-balance chaos and order.
